Can't connect / upload from Google AI Studio to Google Drive in current version of AI Studio

I can’t connect / upload from Google AI Studio to Google Drive in current version of AI Studio.

As I’m entering this post, it recommended two posts I already read / evaluated:

… in both of which, the very last posts contain unresolved posts from users.

I can connect from Google Drive to bring data “into” AI Studio; but I cannot determine how to connect data to “export” data from AI Studio up to Google Drive in the current version of Google AI Studio.

AI Studio tells me:
”I do not have the direct system integrations or permissions required to authenticate and write files directly to your provided Google Drive folder URL.”
… which is not very helpful; it would have been better to give me a link to documentation on how to “give the direct system integrations or permissions required to authenticate and write files directly to my provided Google Drive folder URL.”

Here’s another link (feature request) :

… where enviousmods describes the ability to do this, but not how. Even if it ‘was’ possible, I can’t find any recent 2026 working examples of how to do this, step by step.

Can anyone provide both: a link to relevant AI Studio documentation (ideally official Google docs), and step by step instructions (with screen shots) in the current / 2026 Google AI Studio?
