[Bug] Desktop GUI: Project Agent Settings (Turbo mode, permissions) are not hot-reloaded into active conversation

Environment:

  • Application: Google Antigravity Desktop 2.22.0
  • OS: Windows 11 / 10 (x64)
  • Model: Gemini 3.8 Flash / Gemini 3.7 Pro

Summary:
When opening or creating a new project in Antigravity Desktop, changing the project-level Agent Settings (such as enabling Turbo Mode and granting Full Permissions / Auto-run Tool Execution Policy) is not applied to the currently active conversation. The active session continues running under previous/default permissions (prompting for approvals). Spawning a New Conversation (+) is strictly required for the updated settings to take effect.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Antigravity Desktop and create/open any project.
  2. An initial conversation session is automatically opened.
  3. Open Project Settings → Agent Behavior.
  4. Enable Turbo Mode and set Tool Execution Policy to auto-approve / full permissions.
  5. Return to the open conversation and ask the agent to run a command or make code edits.
→ Result: Agent still prompts for confirmation / review; does not run in Turbo mode.
  6. Click + (New Conversation) and run the same prompt.
→ Result: Turbo mode and full permissions are immediately applied.

Expected Behavior:
Updating project or global agent behavior settings in the Desktop GUI should hot-reload into the active conversation session without forcing the user to discard the chat and start a new one.

Hi @bakiabaci,

Welcome to the Forum,

I was unable to reproduce this issue on my end. I see you are on version 2.22.0. Could you please upgrade to the latest version (2.24.0) from Google Antigravity - Releases and let us know if it still happens?

If the issue persists after updating, could you please provide a brief screen recording ? In the meantime, a quick workaround to avoid starting a new conversation is to use the permissions selector dropdown in the bottom bar of the chat composer to switch the active permission preset directly to Turbo.
