Hello
I am writing to report and ask for clarification about a sudden change in the quota behavior for Claude Opus. Until very recently the quota was refreshed every five hours and it now appears to be refreshed every five days. I have not found any announcement documentation update or warning that explains this change so before assuming this is an intentional policy change I would like to confirm whether this behavior is expected or if it could be a bug or misconfiguration in quota enforcement
From a developer perspective this change has a very significant impact. Claude Opus and Gemini 3 Pro are not interchangeable models especially for complex development tasks. The difference in reasoning depth code generation quality and general problem solving capability is substantial and for certain types of applications Opus is currently viable while Gemini 3 Pro is not a realistic alternative
Because of this the quota change directly blocks development workflows that were previously possible. It also forces a reconsideration of tooling and editor choices since the most important part of an editor is that the underlying model helps the developer instead of making the work harder or more constrained. Model availability and quota behavior are therefore not a minor detail but a core part of the developer experience
If this change is intentional it would be important to communicate it clearly and explain the rationale so developers can make informed decisions. If it is not intentional I am happy to provide any additional information needed to help investigate the issue
