AI Studio is dead: The platform is broken and unusable

It’s time to face the truth: AI Studio is effectively dead. What used to be a powerful, streamlined tool for developers has been turned into a broken platform that simply doesn’t work.

The recent changes have completely ruined the user experience. Constant bugs, failed indexing, and a UI that feels increasingly disconnected from a professional workflow have made it impossible to rely on. It’s no longer a productive environment; it’s a site that fails at its most basic functions.

They ruined a great platform. It’s time to stop making excuses—it just doesn’t work anymore.

Great job, Trying to chase the market, you rolled out a raw, non-functional update, completely ignoring the people who actually use it.

It would have been better if you just rolled back as people asked and pushed out an update that breaks everything.

I am experiencing the same as most. I have spent 3 months building an aviation application and had it working really well. I had an iOS version that I wrapped which I was considering my MVP (minimum viable product). The project within AI Studio is completely dead and the iOS version barely works. I haven’t changed any coding. The project just imploded. Ironically, this all seemed to happen when my “free tier” credits expired. I can’t help but think this is some form of money grab. Very disappointing and I don’t think my project is salvageable.

It’s painful to watch a platform that was once the gold standard for AI development crumble under the weight of a rushed update. For me, Google AI Studio was the flagship—a polished, reliable environment where ideas were transformed into real-world products. But the February 19th update changed everything, and unfortunately, for the worse.

It’s truly a shame that such a great product was sacrificed for a non-functional, raw update.

I built over 5 apps with AI studio. everything has now been moved to other platforms. I can’t belive they just killed their app like that

Unlike many of you here, I use Google AI Studio for personal enjoyment, but I was very disappointed when all the apps I fixed with Code Assistant stopped working on March 4th. I have provided feedback to Google, and I am very anxious to know when this situation will be resolved.

I went to Antigravity but then it was using Claude for some calls and I was blown away by the coding. So I went to Cursor using the $20 plan and haven’t looked back.

RIP Google AI Studio. You were fun.

It is an update that has gone wrong. I signed up for Pro because I had been using antigrav, Gemini, and GAIS, and things were dandy. Until they weren’t. The lack of communication with the user base is my main issue to be honest.

Same here. I’ve been building for 4 months and once I got to the production readiness stage, the pages that were working fine are suddenly broken, all of them. I then asked it to repair the files and they broke the app even more. I took 2 days off the platform because it was just too much to handle. all the work is basically lost. I tried to upload a version of the app I saved but that is not working either. This is the most frustrating thing. All that work lost. Not to mention the constant repeating prompts and sending images as examples to show what I mean but yet it doesn’t comprehend, “repair the messaging system and restore the elements lost in the previous prompts that had nothing to do with messaging”

Imagine all the pages and the modal boxes broken and no way for ai agent to understand what you mean? This is a disgrace and very troubling. Wasted 4 months of work. I am upset.
