Account restricted to AQ. prefix keys — Requesting AIza key restoration

Hello Google AI Support Team,

I am writing to request a review and restoration of my account’s
ability to generate standard AIza format API keys.

Issue: My Google AI Studio account is currently restricted to
generating API keys starting with the “AQ.” prefix instead of
the standard “AIza” format. I have tried multiple Google accounts
and all of them only generate AQ. prefix keys.

These AQ. keys return HTTP Error 400/401 when used with the
google-generativeai Python SDK and the Gemini API endpoint:

generativelanguage.googleapis.com

I have not intentionally violated any terms of service.

Could you please restore standard AIza key generation for my account?

Just go to your GCP project and generate an API key there. Then select gemini-only API in the list.

Hello @bashdar ,

We are moving away from Traffic keys (Alza) and towards a more secure Authentication Key (AQ). AI Studio will now only generate Authentication Key (AQ) keys. More information on key usage can be found in the Using Gemini API keys documentation].

Please submit any compatibility issues with services / SDKs etc. in this form for our engineering team to review. Thanks!
