Spare me the “alpha/beta” cringe. We are discussing business contracts, not your insecurities.
Real strength is getting what you paid for! Walking away and letting a corporation keep your money for a service they failed to deliver . I don’t give donations to trillion-dollar companies. I demand the product I bought.
You are delusional about how Big Tech works. To Google, your $20 subscription is literally less than a rounding error. They spend more on coffee beans in one office floor than you will pay them in a lifetime. They don’t analyze your cancellation, it’s just a stat in a churn rate column regarding noise.
Profit strategy? Don’t make me laugh.
Look at the post by @Gowri_Sankar1 above. He got a 7-day lockout after 10 minutes of usage.
Do you seriously think Google held a board meeting and decided: “Yes, let’s allow Pro users 10 minutes of access per week, that’s a brilliant retention strategy”? It is obviously a broken system/bug, not a master plan. Defending it just makes you look foolish.
You claim they made “public posts” specifically announcing random 7-day lockouts for Pro users? Post the link! If you can’t provide a source, stop spreading misinformation just to sound smart!
I faced this very issue, and after waiting for Google to resolve this for days (while witnessing a productivity drop), I bailed and signed up for Kiro IDE. They offer Claude models and are extremely transparent about quota I have left, credits each task is taking. The price for their pro sub is similar $20; you get 1000 credits per month and then Pay-per-use overage @ $0.04/credit - so far so good.
I use Kiro at work and Codex and Antigravity for personal projects. Each costs $20 per month. I’m going to cancel Google AI Pro because of the new cooldown limits. As many people have noted, Gemini 3 Pro is almost useless for development, and I’m not going to pay $20 for such restrictive Claude limits in Antigravity.
It makes more sense either to get a $20 Claude subscription with higher usage limits, or to go for the $40 Kiro plan, which offers the same Claude models without a 5-hour rolling window.
the pro sub weekly limits makes this unusable for any dev work, I don’t know how free users will get the chance of testing this new ide if the limits are so restrictive like this.
why no one on youtube and other social media mentioning this yet ???
You pay 20 bucks a month just to end up getting capped after like twenty uses on Claude Opus 4.5.
I’m cancelling my subscription
And don’t even get me started on Gemini Pro 3 everything I did with Claude Opus 4.5 got completely wrecked when I tried it on Gemini Pro 3
In my opinion, Anthropic is now focusing its resources on its tools. For Antigravity, this will only be resolved with a potential Gemini 3.5 on par with Claude 4.5. As for code, Google will likely remain six months behind Anthropic for some time to come.
I can’t say its 100%, but I have the same suspicion.
When I let the quota run out, it followed 7 days reset.
When I stopped at 20% 5h reset was applied.
I haven’t tested it exactly yet, just confirming that’s my feeling too.
As we balance giving the best possible quotas and maintaining fairness between users, especially under incredible demand, we’ve established weekly limits for all models. These limits do not apply to Google AI Ultra, which continues to be the best plan for power developers! See https://antigravity.google/docs/plans for the latest.
