403 PERMISSION_DENIED — New Free Tier project denied access

Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue.

Project name: FridgePing Prototype
Project ID: gen-lang-client-06999362..
Account type: Personal Google account
Country: Canada
Billing account: None
AI Studio initially showed Free Tier, but the project now shows Billing Tier: Unavailable.

Every generateContent request returns:

HTTP 403 PERMISSION_DENIED
“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”

I created a new project and a new API key, but the result is the same.

The unexpected-403 reporting form is now closed. Its instructions direct affected users to Cloud Billing Support, but the Billing Support page requires a billing account and does not provide a contact form because I do not have one.

There are no warning banners, appeal links, or explanations on the AI Studio Projects or Billing pages.

Could a Google team member please review the account or project flag, or provide a working support route for Free Tier users without a billing account?

Getting a 403 API error response and / or seeing “Unavailable” next to your project in AI audio indicates a flag has been placed on your account. To proceed:

  1. Check for banners / error callouts in the AI Studio Projects page & the Billing page.

  2. If the issue isn’t clear from the above, contact Cloud Billing Support.
