Why superscript in references not showing correctly

Fig.2
Translation is “processing, and high manufacturing cost[7].”, but that is an incorrect expression, Fig. 2 is the correct expression. How can I make Gemini give me Fig. 2 correctly?

Hey there!

So, I am not sure what your screenshot is referencing, and I see no “figure 2”, so I’m unsure of what you’re talking about. Could you provide more context?

I wish Gemini could give superscripts like in the image instead of “difficult thermal processing, and high manufacturing cost[7]”

Is your input an image? If yes, then I’m not sure the the current OCR* solution can do that, and I’m not sure you want that either, since even small inconstancies in the input could lead to random instances of superscript appearing in the middle of you text.

A quick fix here is to just search your text for [ and replace it with ^[

I hope that helps :heart:

OCR = (optical character recognition)

This issue should be a BUG, Gemini can’t show superscript with brackets “

Ahh, that sounds like a rendering issue, are you accessing the model through Google AI studio?

That’s right, it’s a rendering problem. I’m using Google AI studio.

Alright, I’ve added the bug tag to your post, it makes it easier for Google’s engineers to find :laughing:
