Hi, We are actively using text-embedding-004 model. We have recently received an email saying upgrade to gemini-embedding-001 model by end of Oct 2025 as old models are deprecating.
However checking this page: Model versions and lifecycle | Generative AI on Vertex AI | Google Cloud it mentions the text-embedding-004 model into latest stable models without any retirement date.
Can someone please help with this and confirm the retirement date for text-embedding-004 model? In one of the articles it says January, 2026: Gemini Embedding now generally available in the Gemini API - Google Developers Blog
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
