Unable to create Stitch API key from Settings - "Failed to create API key"

Hi everyone,

I’m unable to create an API key for Stitch. When I go to Settings → API key and click Create key, nothing is created and a toast appears saying “Failed to create API key”. The key list still shows “No keys to display”. It fails every time I retry.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to Stitch - Design with AI
  2. Scroll to the “API key” section
  3. Click “Create key”
  4. Error toast: “Failed to create API key”

Browser console output:

[Stitch] RPC failed: code=5 message= httpStatus=undefined
Error: Failed to create API key. [object Object]

The batchexecute request (rpcid MUAiWe) returns HTTP 200, but the RPC itself fails with code 5 (NOT_FOUND).

Details:

  • Stitch UI otherwise works normally (Daily Credits 0/400 shown in Settings)
  • No existing API keys on the account
  • Browser: Chrome (desktop)

Is this a known issue, or is there something I need to set up on my account (e.g. a Google Cloud project) before a key can be created? Any help would be appreciated.
