Hi, I am looking for technical support regarding a persistent “Permission Denied” error on Google AI Studio that has affected all my Google accounts (personal and professional).
Context:
I live and work on the border between Brazil (Foz do Iguaçu) and Paraguay (Ciudad del Este). I use an eSIM from Tigo (Paraguay) but frequently switch to Brazilian networks (Claro and Starlink) daily.
The Incident:
The issue started when I tried to access Google AI Studio while using Tigo’s mobile data in Paraguay. Although Paraguay is a supported country, I received a regional error. Since then, even when back in Brazil with confirmed Brazilian IPs, I am stuck with the following error on all three of my accounts: “Failed to list models. Permission denied. Try again.”
Technical Details:
Device: Smartphone with an active eSIM. Even when connected to Brazilian Wi-Fi or with roaming disabled, the system seems to be flagging my device based on the SIM card’s telemetry (MCC/MNC).
IP Verification: I have confirmed via ipinfo..io that my current IP is from Brazil. Google Search footer also correctly identifies my location as Brazil.
Troubleshooting performed: I have cleared all cookies and cache, tried Incognito mode, tested multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox), and even removed and re-added the Google accounts to the Android device. The issue persists specifically on mobile.
Request:
It appears there is a security flag or a geofencing glitch tied to my device ID or accounts due to the constant network switching at the border. Is there a way to reset this permission or force the system to recognize my current authorized location?
I am a developer and this is preventing me from working on my projects.
