Request to Restore Standard ‘AIza’ API Key Format for My Account

Hello Google AI Team,

I am trying to integrate the Gemini API into my self-hosted development environment (specifically utilizing n8n orchestrator and local CLI tools).

Recently, my account was migrated to the new security format, and Google AI Studio now only generates API keys starting with the “AQ.” prefix. Unfortunately, many third-party integrations and orchestrators do not support this new format yet and fail with authorization errors, expecting the legacy “AIzaSy” key structure.

Could you please temporarily roll back or restore the ability for my account to generate the legacy “AIzaSy” API keys so I can continue my development workflow while third-party tools update their libraries?

We are moving away from Traffic keys (Alza) and towards a more secure Authentication Key (AQ). AI Studio will now only generate Authentication Key (AQ) keys. More information on key usage can be found in the Using Gemini API keys documentation.

Please submit any compatibility issues with services / SDKs etc. in this form for our engineering team to review. Thanks!
