Canvas usability issues: AI disorganization, "Undo" failures, and the need for optimization on low-end hardware.

Hello to the Google Stitch development team.

I want to leave my feedback regarding the current management of the workspace (Canvas), as developing interfaces here is becoming very tedious and complicated for the following reasons:

  1. Disorder with automatic AI guides: Every time I request a change and a new screen is generated, the AI places the design guide wherever it wants. If I have already taken the time to arrange and structure my screens, the AI completely disorganizes them. It would be excellent if the Canvas had a fixed or locked option, so that screens are generated in the strict order specified by the user and do not get mixed up automatically.

  2. Critical error in the “Undo” function when deleting screens: If I delete a series of screens and accidentally delete one that I actually wanted, pressing “Undo” to recover it restores all previously deleted screens at once. This creates a disaster on the canvas and mixes old elements with new ones. The undo command should be selective and go screen by screen.

  3. Tedious tool workflow: Having to manually switch between the “hand” tool to drag the canvas and the “arrow” to select objects greatly interrupts the workflow rhythm. This should be optimized so that switching actions is more natural or fluid.

  4. Severe performance and technological inclusion issues (Lack of optimization): The system generates a new screen for every modification requested. As so many screens accumulate, the Stitch environment becomes extremely slow and heavy after a while. Google must consider that there are many of us users with limited resources who have the need and desire to create an application or work with these tools, but we do not have sufficient resources for a device with advanced specifications or high-speed internet. AI software development should not be exclusive to those with expensive computers; we demand a focus on optimizing the Canvas so that it runs smoothly on modest hardware.

I would like to see a desktop area that is much more customizable and accessible to all users, where we have full control over our structure without the AI saturating our system or moving things out of place. Thank you!
