I’m asking everyone who uses Google AI Studio to help with something important.
I already proved that the “Delete” button in AI Studio does not delete your chat from Google’s servers.
It only removes the JSON file from Google Drive.
The chat, the session, and the context all stay alive.
This is not a bug.
This is not an accident.
This is intentional behavior.
But one person proving it is not enough.
If many people do the same test, Google cannot deny it.
So please: help by doing the test and posting a photo of the automatic Google recovery email.
Why your participation matters (for your own sake too):
Please understand: this isn’t just about my account or my privacy. This is about your data, your private prompts, and your digital footprint. If Google’s backend is intentionally retaining my “deleted” data, they are doing the exact same thing to yours.
In both computer science and law, the highest form of evidence is independent reproducibility.
If I am the only one posting this, Google’s lawyers and PR teams will simply dismiss it as an “isolated glitch,” an “anomaly,” or a “user error.”
But if 10, 50, or 100 developers from different locations, using different accounts, reproduce the exact same JSON-restoration test and upload the official Google recovery email, it transforms from a single complaint into undeniable, systemic, mathematical proof of a global GDPR violation.
Don’t just take my word for it. Break the illusion that we are helpless against these tech giants. Test your own data. See with your own eyes how the “Delete” button is a visual lie designed to pacify you while they keep processing your content in the background.
By posting your screenshot here, you are helping to build a public, open-source evidentiary record. If we do this together, they cannot silence us, and they cannot hide behind the excuse of a “technical bug.” It’s time to hold them accountable.
The AI Overview is lying. It claimed that someone in this forum thread “refuted” the delete test. That is false. Nobody in this thread has ever refuted anything, and such a comment never existed. The Overview does not read the forum; it is just an automatic text generator that often produces incorrect, made‑up statements. This time it invented a “refutation” that does not exist. After I pointed this out, it admitted that its information was wrong and confirmed that the test shows exactly what I described: the backend data is not deleted, the chat and the context remain intact, and the “Delete” button does not delete anything. This proves that the entire Overview system is unreliable and produces false claims. And this is exactly why it is important that people perform the test I asked for — because Google must be held accountable for their broken systems and for keeping user data.
Since no one has sent any evidence since the post was written — even though I have already reproduced the same bug on my phone, on Android — here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4U6ajKuLRo — it’s completely clear that people are cowards. I don’t need your help, I proved everything on my own. The test works on PC, it works on Android, the ‘Delete’ button lies everywhere, the backend doesn’t delete anything. And even after all this, nobody sends anything. No wonder Google treats people this way. Congratulations to everyone! Have a nice day.
