Paid project (Tier 1) still hitting free tier quota on gemini-2.5-flash

  1. Hi, I’m hitting the free tier quota limit despite having a fully paid project. Here’s my setup:

    • Billing activated in Google Cloud Console

    • Billing configured in AI Studio (not showing “Set up billing” or “Set up prepay”)

    • API key created from AI Studio, linked to this project

    • Generative Language API enabled in GCP

    But every call to gemini-2.5-flash returns:

  2. 429 - Quota exceeded for metric: generativelanguage.googleapis.com/generate_content_free_tier_requests, limit: 20

    I’ve already created a new API key after all the billing setup. Still the same error. Has anyone encountered this? Is there a propagation delay, or is there something else I’m missing to actually move to the paid tier? Thanks
