I am running tens of thousands of prompts a day using gemini flash, which only costs me a few dollars. However with the grounding pricing of $35 per 1000 requests, I would be ruined if I were to run this with grounding, which I am.
Luckily for some reason I am not getting charged at all for these grounding requests. I’m just scared that the day will come where I suddenly will have to pay for all this grounding.
Anyone else experiencing the same?
The price you mentioned would be after you use 1500RPD for free , I am assuming you are not being billed as your usage is under that limit.
It might be helpful to use dynamic Retrieval which gives you a prediction score on whether the prompt would benefit from grounding and you can put a threshold on it

dynamic retrieval is only compatible with 1.5 which is deprecated. I wish it were still a thing but its gone in the 2 series
