This error may be caused by excessive requests to the server or a temporary service outage. We recommend switching to another model temporarily or retrying your request after some time.

While this appears to be a temporary outage, the current iteration of it has been extremely high for the past 24 hours. See my comment here on what I did to attempt to remediate it.
Hopefully Google will start to acknowledge and address major outages like this with their flagship AI products. If not, I expect to start experimenting with other LLMs for redundancy.
Strangely enough same problem here; reads 503 but the status page says all is normal!

Was reviewing the backlogs to better understand the 503 issue. Could you please specify the model and region you are using? Also, is this issue intermittent?

No worries at all! But it seems like the issue has largely resolved itself. I was based in the UK and using 325 Pro at the time.
