How do I set a max spend per month like every other AI provider allows?

I can’t find a setting to set a max spend for an api key or account per month, which would make it unusable since there would be no way of protecting yourself against bugs or hacks that might produce bills in the millions of dollars…

I refuse to believe this most basic feature does not exist. How do I enable it and set a max spend per month for gemini api?

Hi @bobber,

If your API-KEY is attached to a billing account in GCP you can set the rate limits as per my understanding and here is the documentation that I found.

Probably it can help you limit or set alerts using GCP Quotas. Hope this helps.

Did you ever find it how to do this? I’m in almost disbelief that it seemingly doesn’t exist. How would anyone use Gemini API in their apps etc?

It’s “Modified by moderator” to get you to overspend. Monopoly behaviour. I’m very sorry we have to put up with this “Modified by moderator”
