Hallucination on August 18, 2025 on Gemini 2.0 Flash

I have a script that has been running continuously for the past 6 weeks to process some images, and I noticed an anomalously high degree of hallucination that occurred only for a few hours on August 18, 2025 while calling Gemini 2.0 Flash using a developer API key and using images cached in the Files API.

Has this been acknowledged anywhere, or did anyone else have this experience?

thanks for bringing this up to us, is that the only day you have faced this problem,
is that the only model used ?

Yep, that was the only model I was running at the time on some document images. It was running fine before then, then for a few hours I got pretty consistent hallucinations, then performance seemed to return to normal.
