fileSearch + structured output has suddenly stopped working on gemini-3-pro-preview.
It was all working great until a day or two ago.
It also now appears that File search support was REMOVED from the list of supported tools on the Structured Outputs with tools documentation. Is there any likelihood support for fileSearch and structured output returns—or do I need to switch to another model provider?
Seeing exactly the same. I’ve been building something with it for a couple of weeks, so very annoying that they’ve suddenly removed support.

Confirming that it works fine again. Also noting that support for file search was added back to the documentation for structured outputs, after it had been removed for a while.
For what it’s worth: during the period that file search stopped working with structured outputs, I was able to maintain some critical functionality using the files api with structured outputs, although this approach obviously has token ramifications and does not provide parallel performance to file search. Just noting here as a fallback option if needed though
