I am having multiple issues with the slide generation and infographic generation on Notebook LM. Initially, it was working great with any source information presented. Now, it struggles to create, with a “failed to generate” message instead of creation. I have tried multiple different source inputs, had one success yesterday with a premade slide deck added as an only source, and it tweaked it to make it visually better.
Although it is not currently reflected on the official status page, some users are seeing a warning that states, “NotebookLM is currently experiencing issues that may affect the quality of your experience. Follow us on X or Discord for updates.” According to the official community, there is a problem with adding new sources, regardless of whether the notebook is old or newly created. There are also scattered messages across the community suggesting that issues are occurring with some or all of the Studio features (such as creating quizzes, slide decks, etc.).
I am having the same exact issue. I am presenting a workshop on Notebook LM and am hoping this issue is resolved. Otherwise, it will be tough to sell its usefulness to my staff.
