Hey,
I’m an admin of a Google Workspace organization and am experiencing an issue with Google AI Studio. Even after enabling Google AI Studio and Google Cloud Platform, I’m unable to get it to work.
Whenever I try to test, it just keeps loading, and I’m also unable to generate an API key, its getting stuck at ‘Generating API key’ page.
Upon checking the request in the network tab on my browser, the error message “The caller does not have permission” appears.
Could someone please help with this?

Could you verify if the necessary permissions have been granted in your GCP account?
Required permissions for the GCP project:
- apikeys.keys.create
- resourcemanager.projects.update
- serviceusage.services.enable

Hi Gunand,
I am unable to get text generated in the UI and also cannot generate an API key when accessing Google AI Studio.
I have confirmed that the necessary permissions are allowed for the GCP project. Additionally, I am unable to use the free tier or Google AI Studio.
I’ve sent my account email address via DM. Please take a look.

I was getting those errors too. I would sign in and sign out and still get them. I eventually tracked it down to permissions in Google drive. Either the file was deleted or something changed and AI studio couldn’t access the files anymore. Instead of getting a file error or file permission error, it would give that error.
