My existing AI Studio Build app became unusable. Every Gemini 3.8 Flash request fails immediately after “Ran for 0s” with “An internal error occurred,” including a trivial “Reply only with OK” prompt. The same behavior occurs in Incognito and after a full computer restart. Preview reports “Failed to load app / dev server didn’t start,” and attempting to restore a previously successful checkpoint also failed. The project had passed TypeScript and build validation immediately before this began.
Update: this was eventually worked around by moving the project out of the broken AI Studio Build workflow and continuing development locally. The issue appeared tied to the Build environment/conversation state rather than the app itself.
In our case, starting fresh outside that broken session let us recover the project, continue development, and deploy successfully. Posting this in case anyone else hits the same 0s prompt / preview / checkpoint failure pattern.
