Dear team (or not so dear, given the frustration),
I genuinely like AI Studio. I really do. So much so that I tried — multiple times — to convince my team to adopt it as our primary development tool. You know what happened? The GitHub sync made me look like a fool.
There’s no way that in 2026, with Google owning one of the largest cloud ecosystems on the planet, I can’t do a simple workflow of: edit code in VS Code → push to GitHub → see the changes in AI Studio without performing some kind of ritual dance of reconfiguration.
Modern developers don’t live inside a single tool. This should be obvious. The GitHub integration needs to be bidirectional, transparent, and just work — no asterisks, no “known issues,” no workarounds.
I’m writing this because I believe in the product. If I didn’t, I would’ve already migrated quietly. But here’s the thing: if this isn’t fixed soon, I will migrate — and it won’t be quietly.
Consider this feedback from someone who wants to remain a customer but is running out of reasons to.
Cordially (for now),
