Generative Language API Key(Gemini API Key) cannot be restricted

Hi , everyone

Even though I set HTTP referrer and IP restrictions as key restrictions in the generation language API key, everything is not working properly.

Other API groups are correctly restricted, but this API cannot be restricted?

It can be restricted. From the “Get API Key" page, click or tap on the [’] icon (open a new window) next to ‘Generative Language Client’. On that new page, make sure ‘Credentials’ is selected on the left-side menu. Then use the three dots under ‘Actions’ on the row showing ‘Generative Language API key’. The edit action gets you where you can apply restrictions.

Hope that helps!

Hi, @OrangiaNebula

I understand how the limits are set, so the problem is not there, but that the settings are not working correctly.

After configuration, all requests will remain blocked.

I see. I have not tried setting Referrer restrictions (there is no referrer, my mobile device issues the requests to the API). The restriction to specified iOS app works: I have distinct apps on the same device and can specifically enable requests from just one app, while the other only gets 403. So some parts of the restrictions logic work.

Perhaps someone else might have tried the Referrer restrictions and can help, or if nobody comes along with an answer, try raising a bug.

Hope that helps!

Hi, @OrangiaNebula

I checked again with the 24-hour service and it was working.

Seems like a temporary issue.
