Gemini - Deep Research - High Traffic + Queued Research problems

I am a private user, with a Gemini Ultra subscription.

Trying to do a Deep Research chat with Gemini, via the web UI.

For a couple of hours, it was stuck on this message …
I’m sorry, I’m experiencing unusually high traffic right now and am at full capacity. Please try again later.

Eventually, it seemed to begin the research, but has now been stuck with the following message for another couple of hours!
Managing Associated Google Accounts
Research queued

This was my first Gemini chat of the day!!
And I’m on the ULTRA plan!!

Dear Google, please explain, fix/resolve, and do better!!!

same issue. I tried API but still not working.

@Gozhai web ui == gemini.google.com?

@Pan_Yan are you using the Gemini API? What error do you get?

Yes.

I eventually managed to get it to run …

I’m using the Gemini API via the Japan server. The thought chain stopped abruptly, and the task was cancelled(return nothing).

Quick update: the issue has resolved itself for now. I suspect this might be related to Gemini 3.1 Pro, similar to what happened last month. It seems that high server load on the model often causes Deep Research to return empty responses.

Actually, I think I’ve identified the cause. It turns out that the recent Deep Research update introduced two new API endpoints. I was still using the legacy code (deep-research-pro-preview-12-2025), which likely caused the instability.

Pan_Yan, were you able to use those new end points? Since they were released, my old end points are not working and these new ones seem to perpetually be in the provisioning state.
