Gemini cannot come up with unique name for characters

So I asked Gemini to write stories for me. I used AI Studio to make an App where I can upload an image, add a plot and some details and then the AI has to write a dozen or so chapters for me. The result would be stories like hellfire.musearchive and lyra.forgeherfate
So far, the AI has generated over a hundred stories for me, but Gemini has a severe flaw. In generating names for characters, some names are extremely popular. Elara and Lyra tend to pop up 90% of all the times. So for my App I had to keep a list of names that my App uses to avoid certain names.
For whatever reason, the names in those list are very popular in Gemini. This is the list so far:

It’s really annoying that Gemini cannot come up with more names. Besides, what is wrong with more normal names?

I have to admid that Gemini can be very creative in the stories it writes. A bit bad too, if safety is set to none. But can you please change the AI to support a lot more names because I end up with hundreds of Lyra’s and Elara’s in my stories. :smiley:

Good to know that you are enjoying Gemini. Ragarding the useage of popular names, it is possible that Gemini uses some common names as these models are trained on dataset prepared from publically available data. You can try to give Gemini some specific instruciton to generate unique names.

Well, it’s just something I noticed. I now keep a list of names it has used so far and tell it to come up with names that are not in this list. The list is maintained by a C# Web API I wrote for this purpose. The list started with Lyra and Elara and it now has all kinds of variants of these names. “Lyraella” and “Lyraia”, for example.
It’s not really a problem, but considering that the training data must have thousands of unique names, it’s noticeable. When asking for a random name, the AI choice doesn’t seem that random
 Just ask Gemini: “Give me a random name for a female character.” and you’re likely going to end up with “Elara”, “Maeve”, “Lyra” or “Seraphina” in the list of names it generates. Especially Elara is popular. So, let’s see what Gemini Pro is thinking when I ask this:
