Thank you for reaching out and sharing the detailed breakdown of your setup and the troubleshooting steps you have already completed.
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Eligibility for Google Family Group Members (Questions 1 & 2)
Yes—as long as family group members meet the eligibility requirements (such as being 18+), they inherit the Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra Antigravity benefits from a non-trial paid family group manager and can use them with their own Google accounts. On our Models page, non-trial Google AI Pro benefits include access to Gemini 4 Argon (in the Antigravity App, Antigravity CLI, and IDE extensions; it is not available in the standalone Antigravity IDE), Claude Sonnet 5.5 (thinking), and Claude Opus 5.5 (thinking). On non-trial paid Pro and Ultra plans, Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5 immediately replace the 4.6 versions.
2. Why Your Account Still Shows Claude 4.6 and Gemini 4 Argon as Unavailable (Question 3)
Having access to Claude Sonnet 4.6 (thinking) and Claude Opus 4.6 (thinking) while Claude 5.5 and Gemini 4 Argon are unavailable indicates that the system is currently recognizing your account as a Google AI Pro (Trial) subscription rather than a non-trial paid subscription. Because your account previously held a Jio promotional Google AI Pro plan and only switched to your family group today (October 16, 2026), there may be a billing status sync delay where your account is still tied to the prior promotional entitlement state.
3. Next Steps to Verify and Refresh Your Account Entitlement (Question 4)
Since you have already reinstalled the app and signed back in across both the App and CLI, please check the following:
Verify the Family Manager’s Account: Confirm that the family group manager’s Google AI Pro plan was purchased directly from Google One (and is not currently in an initial free-trial period, promotion, or partner bundle), and check whether Gemini 4 Argon and Claude 5.5 appear when signed in to Antigravity with the plan manager’s own account.
Update to the Latest Version and Clear the App Cache: Ensure you are running the latest version of the Antigravity App (v2.23.1) and Antigravity CLI (v1.3.5) as listed in the Changelog, and clear the local app cache to force your client to fetch fresh account entitlements.
Submit an Account Entitlement / Upgrade Request: If the family manager’s account has an active non-trial paid plan and your account still shows the trial entitlement state after clearing the cache, please submit an upgrade request through our support form (also linked on the Models page) so the team can look into your account directly.
Please let us know if you need any further information.
I have confirmed that my family group manager can successfully access and use Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity.
However, more than 24 hours after joining the paid Google AI Pro family group, my account still has the following issues:
Gemini 4 Argon remains “Unavailable”.
Only Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Opus 4.6 are available.
Claude 5.5 models are still missing.
Both the Antigravity App and CLI show the same restrictions.
Reinstalling and signing in again have not resolved the issue.
Since the family manager can use Argon successfully, it appears that the problem is specific to my account’s inherited subscription entitlement.
Could you please help escalate this for a manual entitlement review?
In particular, could the team check whether my previous Jio promotional subscription is still overriding my current paid family-sharing entitlement, or whether my account is incorrectly classified as a trial user?
I would appreciate any assistance in getting my entitlement refreshed on the backend.
Thank you for sharing the detailed report. Based on the official Google Antigravity Models Documentation, there is a crucial policy detail regarding plan tiers and model availability that directly relates to your issue:
Google AI Pro (Trial vs. Paid Subscriptions): According to the documentation table, models like Gemini 4 Argon and the newer Claude 5.5 (Thinking) series have a specific note: ** Available on Google AI Pro for non-trial subscriptions only. If a Google AI Pro membership is obtained via Family Sharing or recent activation, the system might sometimes flag or restrict the status as a trial or pending full validation, locking access to newer models while retaining older ones (like Claude 4.6).
Model Availability Matrix: The docs confirm that Gemini 4 Argon and Claude 5.5 require a verified Google AI Pro (Paid) or Ultra tier. In contrast, older models like Claude Sonnet/Opus 4.6 are scheduled for removal soon (November 2, 2026), which explains why you might still see them while frontier models remain restricted.
Platform Constraints: Note that Gemini 4 Argon is supported on the Antigravity App, CLI, and IDE extensions, but not directly inside the Antigravity IDE itself (though you mentioned using the App and CLI).
Suggested Troubleshooting Steps:
Check your Google Account billing/subscription management page to ensure your Family Sharing membership is fully recognized as an active paid non-trial Google AI Pro plan, rather than a promotional trial tier.
Perform a full token refresh by logging out and back into your Google Account across the Antigravity App and CLI.
Hope this helps clarify why the model selector is currently restricting access!
Google AI Pro only grants access to the Gemini 4 Argon model on the Gemini Web/Mobile App.
To access Argon within Antigravity IDE / Desktop App, an upgrade to the Google AI Ultra plan is required.
That’s why the model isn’t showing up in your IDE model list despite having the Pro subscription! You’ll need to upgrade to Ultra or use Argon directly via the Gemini App interface.
Wow, is this true? That’s a ton of conditions to just use a recent model on a local IDE (that hardly anyone uses FYI) Why so restricted and convoluted? Is Google’s recommendation to just keep using Codex or Claude and ignore Gemini for coding?
Thank you all for the updates and screenshots. Please find the below details:
Clarifying Paid Google AI Pro Access to Gemini 4 Argon :
To correct an earlier community comment: you do NOT need Google AI Ultra to use Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity. Paid (non-trial) Google AI Pro includes Gemini 4 Argon with a dedicated weekly quota (Plans, Choose a model).
@Dietmar_Rieder, because you already see Claude 5.5, your paid Google AI Pro entitlement is active. The only reason Gemini 4 Argon does not appear in your screenshot is that you are using the standalone Antigravity IDE (v2.5.5), where Gemini 4 Argon is not supported (*** note on the Models page). If you sign in with that exact same account in the Antigravity App (v2.25.0), Antigravity CLI (v1.4.5), or Antigravity IDE extensions (VS Code, JetBrains, etc.), Gemini 4 Argon will be available right away.
Prior Jio / Promotional Entitlement Overriding Paid Family Sharing :
Since you confirmed your family group manager can use Gemini 4 Argon, your individual account still has the prior Jio promotional entitlement (Google AI Pro (Trial)) bound as its primary subscription record on Google One.
Please contact Google One Support to verify that the legacy partner/promotional plan record is completely removed from your individual Google Account (not just unlinked on the carrier side), then toggle Share Google One with family off and back on at one.google.com/settings and sign in on Antigravity App v2.25.0 / CLI v1.4.5. Please also submit an in-app feedback report mentioning #189933 so our engineering team can inspect your authenticated account state.
Timing When Switching From a Student Trial to Paid Pro :
Scheduling a paid renewal on a student trial normally waits until the free promotional period ends before charging you. If you use the early transition form in our Upgrade FAQ (or ask Google One Support to start immediate billing), your paid Pro models (Gemini 4 Argon and Claude 5.5) typically sync within a few hours—and up to 24–48 hours maximum—after the first payment is charged.
Hi @Rebbanpalli_Naveen, I am facing the exact same family group entitlement bug. My account shows the ‘Pro’ badge in the UI, but Gemini 4 Argon is marked as Unavailable. I ran a diagnostic on the CLI using the bypass flag $env:AGY_BYPASS_ENTITLEMENT="1". The client successfully bypasses the local restriction check, but the CLI (stuck on version 1.4.8 manifest distributions) hangs indefinitely when trying to call the model endpoint. It appears my inherited family tier is completely desynced on the backend due to a previous promotional subscription override. Could you please escalate my account for a manual backend token refresh?
Here is why the CLI hangs with that flag and how to get your account entitlement and CLI updated:
AGY_BYPASS_ENTITLEMENT is not a supported CLI flag or environment variable (CLI Reference — Command-line flags). Eligibility for Gemini 4 Argon on a paid (non-trial) Google AI Pro plan (Choose a model — Gemini 4 Argon) is enforced server-side when the model request reaches the backend, so bypassing the local UI check causes the request to fail or hang when the server sees a trial or promotional entitlement state. Please remove the AGY_BYPASS_ENTITLEMENT environment variable from your PowerShell session.
If your Google Account still has an expired or active promotional/partner trial record overriding your inherited family plan on Google One, follow the steps in FAQ — How do I upgrade to a paid Google AI plan? to have the trial entitlement cleared via Google One Help, then run /logout in the CLI (Authenticate — Managing your session) and sign back in. Also, if your CLI is stuck on an older manifest distribution, remove any stale ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/updater/update.lock file and verify AGY_CLI_DISABLE_AUTO_UPDATE is not set to true (CLI Troubleshooting — Resolve self-updater locks and failures), or update to the latest Antigravity App v2.28.1 (Changelog — v2.28.1) and Antigravity IDE v2.6.0 (Download). If **Gemini 4 Argon** still shows as unavailable on your paid family plan after updating and signing back in, please reply here with a screenshot of your **Settings → Models & Usage** screen so we can look into it further.
