Gemini 3 Pro does not responds or responds very slow

Hi we started to see a massive number of timeouts and very slow responses when using Gemini 3 Pro model through the API for last 2 days.

Is it some known issue?

Hi, I am seeing this error too. Tried cleaning cache in Chrome, etc. To no avail. Even tried a very simple prompt. Nothing, it just freezes.

We are still seeing these errors. There were no errors over the weekend, but this morning CET they started appearing again.

I’m also experiencing extreme slowness (roughly 2x to 5x slower than usual) with both Gemini-3-flash and Gemini-2.5-flash.

@Alisa_Fortin , is this a known issue on your end?

I still having this problem, my API request took forever and have to abort and retry, the problem is Gemini never response back so I never get the error, it’s like sending to void.

gemini-3-pro-preview is extremely slow in api:

  • tier 1 (+8 mins)..
  • tier 2 (30seconds ~ 2 mins)
    And sometimes it’s random

Used with Gemini CLI tool the 3 (pro and flash) models time out several times before I get a response. Switching model to 2.5 is way faster. 3 takes 10 to 15 min to get a response.

What is the situation on your end? We are still experiencing a lot of timeouts and slow responses, and if the situation does not change, we will have to use a model from another provider

@Alisa_Fortin Hello! Do you have any update on this? My software has lots of issues and I am losing clients because of it. For now I had to switch to another model because Gemini 3 pro was taking too long and my software was timing out. I tried the thinking parameter *low but it has no effect. 60% of API calls are failing.

Same here, had prompts that used to take 15-30sec now take upwards of 10-15min…

It’s not the first time, a similar thing happened few weeks ago iirc.
