Seeing “Model produced a malformed edit” in progress updates then Gemini Pro behaves like everything is fine and reports that current task is successfull, like it didn’t detect failed edits.
Thought sample after user restating that edit failed: “The prior attempt to resolve the issue with (some file).tsx by replacing the entire file content failed. The “target content not found” error is perplexing, given I was trying to adjust (some changes) using replace_file_content”.
This error happens with Flash too, but far less frequently.
This has been happening more lately. The only way I can get out of this is to make sure to create an MD file using “/file.md”. It explicitly says what the limitation of the file being edited can have.
Ex. file.md is being edited cant have embeddings of of pictures or videos.
i have the same issue … i navigate around this issue by prompting the gemini to make a separate python script and use that to implement all changes to my files.
