I feel like the new live model should also be on the free tier due to it being cheaper than the previous generation and it being newer instead of leaving 2 OLDER Live models on the free API Tier.

Not for me, gives me a “Rate limit error: 1011 None. You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.”
65k TPM limit. Maybe you’re hitting that?

I’m hitting this exact same issue too when using a free tier API Key! My tier 1 paid API key works with no issues.

There is no search grounding quota on the free tier for the Gemini 3 series, remove the Google search tool from your live config and it should work
