Gemini 2.0 does not support cached contents, but 1.5-flash-002 to be discontinued

I’m currently using gemini-1.5-flash-002 as it seems to be the latest version that supports cached contents. However today, I received the email notification that it will be discontinued from September 24 2025.

Gemini 2.0 doesn’t seem to support cached contents yet… are there any plans to do this before 1.5 is discontinued? Or will I have to rewrite my API calls in my web services to not use cached contents.

We have the same issue. Need caching for our use case to upgrade.

Hi @Brian_T, I think the context caching for the Gemini 2.0 will be available from March 31, 2025, which was mentioned in the pricing list. Thank You.
