The new flash model completely hallucinates timestamps. The original flash was dead accurate on the transcript timestamps but this new model hallucinates timestamps by such a huge margin it is completely unusable.
Are we supposed to keep using the old flash model? Will they sunset it?

I can’t find any reference for when the -001 model will be shut down on AI Studio, but Vertex AI says both the pro and flash -001 versions will be discontinued on 24 May 2025.
Thanks for that. It seems about 6 months. Hopefully they fix it by then? Do you know how to share the result with them? It’s surprising that they did not test the timestamps. They are off by such a large margin that it would be immediately obvious.
While @Logan_Kilpatrick does check here on occasion, the best way to make sure they are aware is to use the “Send Feedback” option in AI Studio under the three dot menu in the upper right.
Give as many details and examples as you can - the more info you provide, the better the chances are that they can resolve things.
(Tho I’m not sure it will be possible to fix it in the -002 model.)
