Formatting the output as table that can be exported to Google Docs

I have written a set of system instruction to audit a Google Ad campaign. I want to render the output as a clean formatted table that can be exported into Google docs as is. I was able to generate the output I wanted with 1.5 pro consistently. However when I use Gemini 2.0 flash thinking, the output is mangled and isn’t formatted correctly. See screenshots for example. I’ve also tried specifying the format in the system instructions but I’m unable to generate it. Please help.

I had this too. It’s annoying that you can’t paste markdown into Google docs, and have it convert into the Docs friendly format. I think this will have to be added soon. In the meantime, I’ve had Gemini reformat the markdown into a table and it’s worked.
