The Problem: The “100% to Lockout” Cliff
As users on the Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra plans, we are currently navigating our workflows with a broken fuel gauge.
The current UI in Antigravity/Gemini Apps focuses almost exclusively on the 5-hour rolling refresh window. This is helpful for short-term planning, but it completely obscures the weekly rate limit. It is incredibly frustrating to see a status of “100% available” for a 5-hour window, only to be hit with a multi-day “Rate Limit Reached” lockout after just a few prompts because the invisible weekly bucket was already nearly empty.
For professionals and developers who rely on these models for daily production, this lack of transparency makes the service feel unreliable.
The Solution: Dual-Level Transparency
We need a clear, high-visibility dashboard (ideally within the Model Quota settings) that shows:
-
5-Hour Window Status: The current rolling capacity and its specific refresh countdown (as it exists now).
-
Weekly Consumption Bar: A progress bar showing how much of the total weekly “High/Generous” quota has been consumed.
-
The “Next Refresh” Milestone: A clear date and time for when the weekly cap resets, not just the next 5-hour increment.
Why This Is Urgent
When a user hits a weekly limit without warning, their entire development sprint or project timeline stops. If we can see the weekly consumption approaching 80% or 90%, we can:
-
Switch to more efficient models (like Flash) for simpler tasks.
-
Pace our “Deep Think” or “Pro” requests more carefully.
-
Budget AI credits for overages before the lockout happens.
Operating without this data feels like driving a car where you only know how much gas you’ve used in the last 10 minutes, but have no idea if the tank is actually empty.
Google, please give us the visibility we need to use your tools professionally.
