Feature Request - Google Stitch to Figma Export Option

Hi Google Team,

I’m writing to request a feature that would significantly improve our design workflow: the ability to export designs directly from Google Stitch to Figma.

Current Workflow Challenge:

Our team currently uses both Google Stitch and Figma for different stages of our design process:

  1. We create initial wireframes and prototypes in Google Stitch, taking advantage of its integration with Google Workspace and real-time collaboration features

  2. We then need to transition these designs to Figma for more detailed design work, component creation, and handoff to development teams

  3. Currently, there is no direct export option, so we have to either:

    • Manually recreate designs in Figma from scratch (time-consuming and error-prone)

    • Export as static images and manually rebuild from screenshots (loses design structure and components)

    • Use workarounds that don’t preserve design hierarchy or assets

This process creates bottlenecks, increases the potential for inconsistencies, and wastes valuable team hours that could be spent on actual design work.

Why This Matters:

  • Time Efficiency: Direct export would eliminate hours spent on manual recreation and allow seamless handoff between tools

  • Design Consistency: Exporting with design structure intact ensures components, typography, and spacing rules carry through to Figma

  • Better Collaboration: Our team could leverage Stitch’s Google Workspace integration early in the design process, then use Figma’s robust prototyping and development handoff features

  • Workflow Integration: Many teams use both tools for different purposes—having interoperability would unlock better integration across the design lifecycle

Ideal Feature:

An export option in Google Stitch that allows users to:

  • Export designs with layer structure and hierarchy preserved

  • Include typography, color styles, and component information

  • Generate a Figma file directly or via a shareable link

  • Support batch exports for multiple artboards/pages

Additional Context:

We’re not alone in this need—many design teams use multiple design tools and would benefit from better interoperability. This feature would strengthen Google Stitch’s value proposition and make it a more viable option for teams that need to work across multiple design platforms.

Has anyone else experienced this workflow gap? I’d love to hear if there are existing workarounds or if others would find this feature valuable as well.

Thank you for considering this request. I’m happy to provide more details about our specific use case or discuss this further.

Best regards,
Likhon Ahmed
