Existing AI Studio Project Fails with “Invalid argument” Even for Simple Prompts

Hello Google AI Studio Team,

I am facing a persistent issue with my existing Google AI Studio Build project, MEGAHUB INVENTORY MANAGER.

The Build Assistant immediately fails with the following error:

Model: Gemini 3.8 Flash
Status: Ran for 0s
Error: Invalid argument

The issue occurs even when I start a new Assistant chat and send a minimal, harmless prompt such as “Reply only: OK” or “PROJECT CHECK”.

What I have observed:

  1. My existing project consistently fails to process prompts.
  2. Starting a new chat does not fix the problem.
  3. A new, blank AI Studio project successfully responds to the same simple test prompt.
  4. The Preview of my existing project is still visible and appears to work.
  5. The project contains important native Android app development work, and I need to preserve it.

My project is MEGAHUB INVENTORY MANAGER, an Android inventory and return-tracking application.

Could you please investigate whether this is an existing-project, workspace, snapshot, or Build service issue and advise me on a safe recovery method that preserves my current project and source files?

I do not want to use Restore, Remix, or destructive cleanup without a verified backup.

I can provide the project URL/applet ID and screenshots privately if needed.
