Does Google One AI Pro include API access for Veo 3 or is it limited to Flow only?

,

I’m a student and subscribed to Google One AI Pro using the free-tier eligible discount.
In the Flow web interface, I can successfully generate videos using the Veo 3 model.

However, when I try to use Veo 3 via the Gemini API (REST or SDK), the model is not accessible and API requests fail. I also noticed that API usage requires separate billing.

So my question is:

  • Does the Google One AI Pro plan include any API access for Veo 3 or Gemini models?

  • Is the Pro subscription limited to Flow UI only?

  • If API access is actually included, how can I enable or use it?

  • Or do I need a separate Gemini API billing setup even though I already have the AI Pro plan?

I just want to confirm whether the Pro subscription is supposed to work with API calls or if Flow is the only supported interface.

Any official documentation or clarification would be appreciated.

Hi @Suleyman_Yasar ,

Apologies for the delayed response, To use the Veo 3 model via the Gemini API, you’ll need to enable billing through Google AI Studio or Google Cloud for API usage. According to the official Gemini API Pricing & Model Access documentation, the Veo 3 model can be used via the API after an active billing account has been configured.

Thanks.

I already know this; that’s not my issue. My concern is that I have a Google AI Pro subscription through my student membership, and I believe API requests are not included in this plan. Am I mistaken?

Hi @Suleyman_Yasar, thank you for checking with us. You are absolutely correct—the Google AI Pro subscription is limited to web apps (such as Flow, Jules, etc.) as mentioned in the documentation. It does not cover API requests.
