Daily usage limits for models in AI Studio

yeah, I’m not paying for the bad models. But also if you could leave your bad models up long enough so that we can do the research on it. That would be real helpful.

Sure seems like a hit and run. Very low key and trying to get under the radar

Hey Mustan or team,

Adding my feedback for the AI studio update, since you asked us to report unexpected limits.

  • Plan: I’m on the Google AI Pro 10TB plan, and the latest update has completely stalled my dev workflow.
  • Models: I tried bouncing between Pro and Flash models since the announcement mentioned limits are per-model. It makes zero difference in practice. Once Im cut off on one model, switching to another immediately throws the exact same limit error on the very next prompt.
  • Severe Cap Drop: I’m getting limited after sending barely 5 to 8 total messages for the day. For comparison, around Sept 23, the platform ran perfectly, I could send nearly 40 or more prompts. But now, its unusable and limited to fewer than 10 messages, just like someone else recently mentioned here.

can we revert the latest quota changes and go back to last week’s limits? Feels like we are getting shortchanged on what we’re paying for right now.

I’m on the Google AI PRo 5TB plan. Google AI won’t show me the option to choose any pro model for my projet (only Flash). I have also tried pay per use with no success. I have tried everything. It must be a bug. Please help!!

A 12-prompt daily limit for Pro subscribers is a joke, the announcement promised much higher limits for paid tiers, but this makes subscriptions useless.

Please roll this back or fix the quotas.

I am experiencing repeated “Quota exceeded” errors in AI Studio Build mode, not the Playground.

Today, October 3, 2026, several attempts stopped immediately or interrupted the same ongoing coding task. Switching agents/models sometimes allowed work to resume, but the errors returned before the task could be completed.

Project: PEI FACILE.
Affected models include Gemini 3.8 Flash, Gemini 3.7 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash.
Subscription: Google AI Pro, currently active and valid until October 12, 2026.

Despite my active Pro subscription, repeated interruptions are preventing me from completing the work. The interface does not clearly identify which quota has been exceeded or when access will be restored.

Could the team please clarify:

  1. Which usage limits apply specifically to Build mode for Google AI Pro subscribers?
  2. Where can I see my consumed and remaining quota?
  3. When exactly does the quota reset, and in which timezone?
  4. Do failed runs, internal errors and retries consume quota?
  5. Is my Pro subscription being correctly recognized by AI Studio Build?
  6. Can you check whether this is an actual quota limit or a backend issue affecting my project?

I can provide screenshots, timestamps and the Applet ID.

Thank you.

Yup just got my ‘Quota Exceeded’ Message the other day, 1st time ever (using Free tier) while building my App.
Welp you had to know it was coming, give the ‘Crack’ eh, AI Vibe Coding Tools for Free, then when you get hooked and need it to finish your projects and come back and get your ‘Fix’ it’s now ‘That will be $20 Bucks please!’
But hey those Billionaires and their Trillion Dollar Companies gotta pay for those Mansions Private Jets and Yachts some kinda way huh

@Mustan_lokhand I have been hitting quota limits after just a few prompt exchanges even with the API. Is this expected behavior?

Please DM me your project ID and email

Are you going to respond to the others?

My experience today. A long chat, about 420,000 tokens. Gemini 3.0 Flash processed 20, maybe 25 requests in it—I didn’t count exactly—and then hit the limit. Naturally, Gemini 3.0 Flash continued to work normally in new chats. I’m still hoping this is a bug and not intended behavior.

I’m absolutely tired of this I swear… All of September like this, August before that to some extent and now October. Will these “bugs” ever END and I will be able to work normally? :wilted_flower:

After hitting the daily limit, I Google aske me to to upgrade my subscription, which I did. I waited an hour and nothing happened. I did not regain access. I’d like a refund for my plan.

Looking at this informal form, it seems like the most basic AI plan does not provide additional usage. That was not disclosed in your upsells. I would like a refund.

first of all daily limit should be visible for the user.

Checking back in on this. Given the project roadblocks mentioned above, could we get an update on whether this behavior is intended or if a fix is currently planned?

The reason I’ve stayed on free is because pro just isn’t worth it

You would think that Google could use AI to help find the solution to help remove the free tier quota limit for those of us who jumped from the free tier to paid Tier 1.
