Hi, I’m also receiving the same error despite being on Tier 1 (PROXY ERROR 429: Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).) I let it pass for like a day, but after reset for the next day it’s still like this, please help

Same here. Till yesterday i was in free tier, today moved to paid tier 1 because of 429 error.
All logs disappeared, no limit showed to be reached but only receiving 429 through the API….
Tried with 2.5 pro, 2.5 flash, 3 pro.

As you can see, the key is linked and im well below the 250 limit. And in the past one day, i have only sent 20 requests. The above usage is for past 7 days. I cant find the option to DM you. My project number is 750749625220. The error is [[You are out of free generations.
You can continue by using your own paid API key.]] Although my key is linked, paid. Tier 1. The next error is [[You’ve reached your rate limit. Please try again later]]

I’ve already decided that if it’s not working by tomorrow when I get back from my trip and can finally program it, I’ll integrate it with another AI provider.

Same problem here. First, two days ago my usage rates were reduced to free tier despite showing tier 1. Then came the rate limit (250 for gem3 pro prev), even though several days passed, it still remains stuck on 240/250, although RPD should reset daily.

It is quite astonishing that some of my projects at the free tier are running smoothly, while those at the paid tier 1 are returning 429 errors. If the issue with the paid tier cannot be resolved, coupled with the recent adjustments to the free tier, it will have a significant impact on the projects.

Really going around. Exactly the same issue here linked and active Tier 1 but getting this out of free generations message, 2 days past on my Gemini API project with this. I had to create a new project and link it to billing to get it working for a while. But after the days use I got the same message. There has been zero reset of any kind on either project. Fully locked out for use now, I was averaging 25/250 RPD, Half of max TPM and just hitting ~2 RPM before this happened.

“Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).” Having this same issue for the past 3 days now, even though no issues previously for weeks prior. On a paid tier one, different gemini AI models that are all under each of the limits etc. Cant find anyway to increase quota (even though I do not believe that is the real cause) or resolve the issue!

How much has this quota been reduced? Where can I find the new quotas?
Will the transition to Tier 2 help?

This doesn’t seem like a Tier 1 quota issue, the response message is stating free tier quota’s so its their systems that are not recognizing tier 1 quota’s correctly.
For gemini 3 the quota is 250 RPD, 25 RPM for tier 1 if your using Google AI studio’s API link. You can check it in your dashboard, Usage and Billing, Rate limit. You have to select the project your using with your billing API and turn on the all model widget.
Otherwise you can check in Google Cloud Console by going to IAm and Admin then Quotas and system limits.

Thanks @chunduriv but at the time we were still Tier 1 we were nowhere near the limits there.
I was referring to a way we could get programatic warning that we are within x% of the limit so action can be taken before limit is reached, or some % failures when approaching the limits with a quantified value in the response. Without that, this is not a useful mechanism for production purposes.

Thanks. The issue for the 400 is resolved by reingesting with local terminal. Previously was ingesting with Claude code, the store names are somehow retrievable from claude code’s bash by prompting it. However, it is not the case for my local terminal. It seems Claude code’s bash and my local ingestion and retrieval are not in sync or align in environment or something or maybe a geographical contraint on settings are my guess.

2nd 429 error somehow resolved itself without me doing anything. Do you still need my id?

I‘m experiencing the exact same issue. My account is on Tier 1 and my current usage is significantly lower than the limits shown on the Usage page, yet I am persistently receiving 429 errors. Unable to find the DM option, so sharing the Project Number here (0145303772)

I’m also experiencing recurring 429 errors:

“429 | Error in creating agent response. You exceeded your current quota, please check your Google Gemini plan and billing details. | You have made too many requests in a short period of time. Please try again after some time.”

“[429] Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).”

The API calls are below the limit. (Here I’m sending screenshots of today’s usage levels for the two projects I have.)

This might sound odd, but it seems to occur only with the 2.5 Pro model. (2.5 flash nor 3 Pro)

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
