I had Antigravity 1.18.4. I saw the ‘Restart to update` notification on upper-right corner. I clicked it. Then it relaunched. It upgraded to 1.19.4. But the ‘Restart to update` reappeared. Since you responded to my previous bug post saying that you have verified my previous ‘agents’ (plural) folder issue and mentioned 1.19.5, i clicked the new ‘Restart to update` again thinking maybe I should be on 1.19.5. It showed the error below. (Note that it says ‘Visual Studio Code.. understandable since Antigravity is a VSCode fork. But maybe this can be updated). I clicked ‘Retry’, it failed twice. Then i clicked ‘Cancel’. Then suddenly, my entire Antigravity installation WAS GONE! This means that the update feature is very fragile. Now i have to reinstall and go through the entire setup process again (extensions, etc.).
Yes, exact same error happened to me when I was updating AG yesterday, same exact error.
I think the success of AG has caught Google by surprise, they clearly don’t have enough staff members to fix issues but I am hoping things will change in March.
You can reinstall it and your extensions should load right back up without anything missing(that was the case for me).
Yep, I downloaded and reinstalled it. Extensions, and last states of workspaces are preserved. Good to know that extensions, settings, caches, etc live in the user profile folder, not the application binary.. thus the preservation.
Thanks for sharing your experience and tips. It prevented me from smashing my monitor. ![]()
