[Bug] Antigravity CLI 1.1.25 on Linux ARM64 fails to install Playwright driver (404)

Environment

  • Product: Google Antigravity CLI
    • Version: 1.1.25
      • OS: Debian 13 (Trixie), Linux ARM64/aarch64
        • Device: Raspberry Pi 5
          • Chromium: installed at /usr/bin/chromium
            • Google account: Google AI Pro
          • Issue
          • Antigravity CLI works normally for chat, code, and terminal tasks.
          • However, browser-related initialization fails because the bundled Playwright integration attempts to download:
        • playwright-1.57.0-linux-arm64.zip
      • All three configured download endpoints return HTTP 404:
        • Azure CDN mirror
          • Akamai mirror
            • Verizon mirror
          • Exact error
        • failed to install playwright: could not install driver:
        • got non 200 status code: 404 (404 Not Found)
    • Notes
      • Reproducible with direct HTTP GET requests against all three download mirrors.
        • Also reported on x64 Linux, so this is not specific to ARM64 or Raspberry Pi.
          • Chromium is already installed locally and launches without issues.
            • Installing a standalone Playwright package does not resolve this because Antigravity uses its internal Playwright-Go driver downloader.
          • Expected behavior
          • Antigravity should use valid driver URLs, bundle the driver directly, or allow configuring an existing local driver path.

Hi @Yoseph_Mo

Could you please try these steps:

  • Run the following commands on your Raspberry Pi to bootstrap the driver from npm:

    # 1. Prepare target cache directory

    V=1.57.0

    D="$HOME/.cache/ms-playwright-go/$V"

    mkdir -p "$D"

    # 2. Extract official playwright-core package and copy local node binary

    curl -sL "https://registry.npmjs.org/playwright-core/-/playwright-core-$V.tgz" | tar -xz -C "$D"

    cp "$(command -v node)" "$D/node"

    # 3. Verify driver and install Chromium

    "$D/node" "$D/package/cli.js" --version

    "$D/node" "$D/package/cli.js" install chromium

  • Once installed, restart Antigravity CLI. It will detect the local driver and skip the network download entirely.

Could you please share the flow of execution steps to reproduce this issue or the issue still persists, if then could you please share the exact flow of steps to reproduce this issue.

Thanks, the workaround resolved the original Playwright driver download issue on my Raspberry Pi 5 (Linux ARM64). Antigravity successfully launched Chromium and completed a browser navigation test. One additional observation: playwright install chromium downloaded the Chromium archive successfully but stalled during extraction on my system. I manually extracted the verified downloaded archive into the Playwright cache, after which the browser test succeeded.
