Argon 4 not available in ag ide. ultra users

this is the silliest decision to have your competitors latest models available with only your flash model in antigravity ide. antigravity 2.0 is useless to any serious developers.

Hi @Jay_Cee,

As noted on the Models page, Gemini 4 Argon isn’t currently available in the standalone Antigravity IDE. If you’d like to use Argon with your Ultra plan while staying in an editor-based workflow, it’s available in:

  • Antigravity IDE extensions for VS Code and other editors such as JetBrains, Visual Studio, Zed and Xcode (see Extensions)
  • Antigravity CLI, which you can run in your editor’s integrated terminal

Gemini Flash 3.8 is great, but seriously, are we supposed to abandon the IDE? If that is the case, just let us know..

We can use Argon through VS-Code extensions, CLI, etc., but not the environment the people who are seriously using their product would want to use it in. Make it make sense.

i’ve looked into it still have to download ag 2.0 and it’s caused serious headaches/lost data that took a week to rollback out of when you guys blindly “updated” to 2.0. 2.0 is of no use to me, and the above methods introduce the issues I 'm trying to avoid… your competitors premier/latest models are in ag ide not understanding the friction with implementing.

Why is it not available? It makes no sense. You’ve rolled out the latest models previously. Why stop now? People pay quite a bit of money to access the latest and greatest, and you’ve removed it from one of your more popular products. It makes zero sense and hurts trust that your customers have in you. Are you purposefully trying to drive people to Claude Code?

This really is absurd. Google isn’t catering to what real developers are looking for. My take on this is that they’re trying to appeal to laypeople, while the real developer — who, before AI or even after it, still codes by hand with assistance — is left behind.

How can the company’s flagship reasoning model (Gemini 4 Argon) be available on the Pro plan for the general app, but natively locked in the selector of their own standalone editor built for code? Forcing the use of extensions in other IDEs or background tools that take control away from the dev shows that the current priority isn’t the people who actually write code on a daily basis.

I can’t use it in Antigravity IDE BUT I can use Argon in Visual Studio Code with the antigravity plugin.:person_shrugging:
