Hello, i cant get to run browser subagent in the antigravity ide, it just isnt launching the browser, i already have chrome installed, i almost tried every possible way from reinstalling the ide to switching on a new device i still cant get it to work, can somebody help me? last time i used it was probably 4-5 months ago.

Hi @mojoxd,

Welcome to the Forum.

Please check the following in Antigravity IDE (v2.5.5):

  1. Check Browser Tools & Strict Mode in Settings (Browser Overview & Settings Docs):

    • Open User Settings > Browser and make sure Browser Tools is toggled ON (and that any custom browser profile path is valid or reset to default).
    • Check Allowlist / Denylist (Docs): By default, only localhost is pre-allowlisted. When the Browser Subagent tries to open any other URL, check the chat step for an Always Allow / Allow prompt—the browser will not open the page until approved.
  2. Quit Existing Chrome Windows & Enable Remote Debugging (Separate Chrome Profile Docs):

    • Antigravity IDE runs the Browser Subagent inside a separate, isolated Chrome profile. Make sure Google Chrome is updated to the latest version, open chrome://inspect/#remote-debugging in Chrome to confirm Enable remote debugging is checked, and completely quit all running Chrome windows before asking the agent to launch the browser.
  3. If You Are on Windows (Check $HOME for Playwright):

    • If the browser step fails on Windows before Chrome opens, the underlying driver may be missing the HOME environment variable. Run this once in PowerShell and restart Antigravity IDE:

      [System.Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable(‘HOME’, “$env:USERPROFILE”, ‘User’)

If the browser still does not launch on v2.5.5, please share:

  • Your OS (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and Chrome version.
  • Either a screenshot of the error on the failed Browser step in the chat panel, or the diagnostic logs (.txt file) from Help > Toggle Developer Tools > Console.

I tried launching the browser by clicking the button near the chatbox i get this error.
im on windows 11 and using latest version of chrome available.
