Agent not follow hard constraint

I’ve been using antigravity since 1.0 to 2.0. recently, I’ve been caught out the agents (normally I used gemini 3.1 pro hi) were lying to me and complete job violating hard constraint setting. i.e. I construct hard constraint for agent to do the job using specific tools. I’ve to caugth it red hand multiple of time until they admit and change their procedures.

Is there any recommend method or example to control this?

remark: I’m non-programer user, so I may not use proper technical wording.

It isn’t there. Your instructions from AGENTS.md or GEMINI.md are just a small fragment of rules that end up in the built-in, massive prompt or, even worse, in the context.

Compared to Claude, Gemini models have the ‘system instructions’ parameter totally dead. They never listened to it, and some rules are completely ignored.

So if you’re establishing any kind of hierarchy of tools and model behavior, arm yourself with immense patience for your nerves.
