Project name Seray, Project ID: gen-lang-client-08765789… All API keys I generate start with the prefix ‘AQ.’. I have tried using both ‘?key=’ and the ‘x-goog-api-key’ header via generativelanguage.googleapis.com, and both return the same error: 401 UNAUTHENTICATED — ACCESS_TOKEN_TYPE_UNSUPPORTED. Gemini API is active in the Cloud Console, and the key is restricted to the Gemini API. I kindly request an account review so that I can obtain a working key in the ‘AIza’ format.

We are moving away from Traffic keys (Alza) and towards a more secure Authentication Key (AQ). AI Studio will now only generate Authentication Key (AQ) keys. More information on key usage can be found in the Using Gemini API keys documentation.
