About the Author: Realistic optimist and occasional inventor
,. . .He became fascinated with math, science, and philosophy a long time ago after watching Forbidden Planet endless times on a small black and white TV set. Inspired by his high school math teachers Nitza Gotlieb and Bob Serkey, and further inspired in college by a fascinating array of physics, math, and philosophy courses, and by Max Dresden. Decades ago, the author participated in design of the Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR) for Princeton University’s Plasma Physics Lab, and design and safety evaluation of traditional nuclear power reactors. The author also conceived & Initiated a variety of projects, many involving sensors and unmanned systems at one of the US Navy’s R&D labs. He’s currently pondering the origins of life, consciousness, and the use of AI and AI related technologies for beneficial applications. He hopes to witness the success of controlled fusion for civilian power applications and for fast regular transit between Earth and Mars.
