Hi everyone,
I’ve been stuck on this for several days now and have exhausted every local troubleshooting avenue, so I’m posting the full technical picture in case it helps the team spot a pattern, or helps others hitting the same wall.
Summary of the problem:
Antigravity IDE was working normally until my computer lost power and stayed off for about 40 hours. After restarting, I’ve been stuck in an authentication/eligibility loop ever since, with no success across multiple days of testing.
Errors observed (in order of appearance):
- “There was an unexpected issue setting up your account. Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time.”
- In-chat: “Verification Required” with rotating Error IDs.
- Clicking “Complete verification” redirects to accounts.google.com/signin/continue, which returns an HTTP 500 Server Error.
- A separate sign-in attempt returned:
localhost:4774/oauth-callback?error=access_denied— meaning Google’s own authorization server explicitly denied the grant during the OAuth handshake itself, before even reaching the eligibility check stage. - Most recently, the sign-in screen now shows: “Further action is required to use Antigravity — Please verify your account, then sign in again to continue,” with “Verify” and “Sign in again” buttons that both loop back to the same result.
Log-confirmed root cause:
My local language_server.log shows OAuth authentication succeeding locally (Auth succeeded, refreshing features and managers), but every subsequent call to the model is explicitly rejected server-side:
PERMISSION_DENIED (code 403): Verify your account to continue.
This confirms the rejection happens on Google’s backend after successful local authentication — not a local configuration issue.
Full troubleshooting completed (all unsuccessful):
- Cleared all cache, session storage, and lock files under %APPDATA%\Antigravity IDE
- Manually updated the client to the latest available build (2.5
