Hi,

I’m experiencing what appears to be the same issue, but with an additional error.

My setup:

  • Google AI Pro subscription is active.
  • Gemini API key is selected in the project’s Secrets.
  • The API key is correctly linked.
  • I can use Gemini normally in AI Studio chat.

However, AI Studio Build still refuses to continue.

First, I get the message:

“Upgrade to continue your flow”

After selecting the API key, the project now fails with this error instead:

“Quota exceeded for ‘Free daily read units per project (Firestore free tier database)’. This database cannot exceed free quota limits even when a billing instrument is enabled.”

The project fails before generation starts.

Is this a known issue with AI Studio Build?
Is the Firestore quota referring to an internal AI Studio project rather than my own Firebase project?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

A few follow up questions

  1. Do you have multiple apps with firestore enabled.

2. For this specific app, are you able to generate the app or it just instantly fails out

  1. If you are able to generate the app, can you share the app id wiht me via DMs
