Unable to republish existing AI Studio app to its original custom URL

I have an existing Google AI Studio app that was previously published at: Karmakar-developers.ai.studio

I am using the same AI Studio app/project and the same Google Cloud/Firebase setup.

Recently, I was unable to publish the app to my existing custom URL. In fact, for several hours, AI Studio reported that every custom URL I entered was invalid/unavailable.

I then deleted the README.md file from my project. After that, AI Studio suddenly allowed me to publish the app, but only under a new *.ai.studio URL.

The original Karmakar-developers.ai.studio URL is therefore not available for republishing/updating, even though it belongs to my previously published app.

There is also a Firebase configuration involved:

Current Google Cloud project: karmakar-developers

The Android app and current website use the same Firestore.

I previously moved the app from an older Firebase project to a new Firebase project and removed the old Firebase app. I do not want any existing Firestore data, Android app connectivity, or authentication configuration to be affected.

Please investigate whether the original Karmakar-developers.ai.studio URL is still associated with a stale/old deployment or Cloud Run service, and whether it can be reassociated with my current AI Studio deployment.

I can provide screenshots, App ID, project ID, old URL, new URL, and deployment information if required.

A fix has been rolled out. Is this issue still occurring for you?

If so, please send a direct message with:

  • Your App ID

  • Your Google AI Studio login email address.

Hi Mahesh: I have sent App ID and Email Address in the “moderators…” group Messages. I am new in this Forum and not able to find any direct message.

Did you delete the app that was pointing to Karmakar-developers.ai.studio without unpublishing?

Hi Mahesh:

The project with which the app “karmakar-developers.ai.studio” is created is still exists in my Google AI Studio. But it is currently not referring to OR pointing to this app. Rather it is saying to publish the app freshly.

I have not deleted the project and the app is not also unpublished. I just did some modifications in the code using Google AI Studio and trying to republish.

However, while republishing, it is saying to publish as new app.

The Google AI Studio Custom URL is becoming very unreliable. I have unpublished one of my app today. When I try to republish with the same custom URL, it is saying that it is still available. But after clicking on publish button, it is regenerating some other URL like run.app URL.
